Jane’s Addiction recorded a live version of “Sympathy For The Devil” that appeared on their 1987 s/t album. They put a different spin on it, but it illustrates how strong the song is since it still holds up with this different approach. They leverage some of the same percussion, which really helps drive the track […]
Now i know i dropped a song by Macklemore a little while back, but his whole album is actually quite good and I’m a big fan of his; therefore, I’m giving you another song from this duo. Now since the last time i provided a song by them, they were just surfacing in to the […]
I couldn’t help myself and I had to throw in “Gimme Shelter” as well. I cannot resist the guitar line that kicks off the song, it sucks me in every time. This is a great song, another good vocal performance, great guitar riffs, great background vocals on a terrific chorus. Plus, there is so much […]
I dropped a Tegan & Sara song a while back, so its no secret that I’m a big fan of these ladies. This song comes from their most recent album, “Heartthrob,” which was released in January 2013. Oddly Tegan & Sara had been working on the album since February of last year, but just recently […]
“Mouth for War” provides possibly an even greater contrast with his vocals compared to the original song by Pantera. He really plays it up with his deadpan vocals, but the playing is solid throughout. The kid has some talent, but I’m not sure what type of career he can make out of it.
“My Sharona” is only his guitar with no vocals, but he even plays sounds like the vocals to go along with the guitar riff. Plus the percussion work is astounding.
I don’t know who this guy is, pretty sure he’s Australian and he sometimes identifies himself as Sambo Ray Jr., which was a nickname a friend gave him in high school. He’s a pretty phenomenal guitar percussionist player. I usually say “listen to the music, don’t watch the video”, but in this case, you really […]
Marc has been putting out music independently since 2002. He’s a rather talented guy and the son of famous guitarist Ted Broussard, whom was a member of ‘The Boogie Kings.’ Marc’s style of music has been classified and Bayou Soul and once you get a listen to this guys voice, its clear as to why […]
“Requiem” starts off with Ward and his guitar for the first minute before the drums and bass kick in. It’s another builder, as the music grows in intensity as the song progresses. There’s also a cool little guitar solo with plenty of distortion towards the end of the short track. Short and sweet is always […]
Andy Allo is very talented young woman; she acts, sings and writes her own music. To be honest, she hasn’t been on the music scene for very long, but she has been able to learn from one of the best artist to ever distribute music to the masses (Prince). Her first album (UnFresh) was an […]
